Who Shot Adobe Flash?

RIP Flash

As a kid, me and Flash used to pack up our fishing poles and head down to our favorite spot on the crick down just past the county line.  Good times ol' Flash and me.

Wait, what?

All of you knew this was coming!  You all knew Flash was sick.  Flash just wasn't right in the head.  Flash just wasn't safe.  Everybody knew it and everybody knew ol' Flash's days were numbered. And now, ol' Flash is gone and y'all are sittin' around wunderin' just who the heck is gonna take ol' Flash's place in this world.

I tell you what!

Sad story and true story.

The sad story for some of you is that you recently purchased the eLearning Series or some portion of it. And it simply won't work.  Adobe discontinued the product and support of the product as of January 1, 2021.  And they announced their intentions to do this 3 full years ago.  Adobe figured 3 years would be enough time for developers to find an alternative to their beloved Flash and they could rewrite software to end their dependence on Flash once and for all.

The sad truth of the matter is that Hexagon aka Vero aka Planit aka Cabinet Vision dragged their feet on this one.  Consequently, you are S.O.L. if you want to watch your favorite computer aided learning program, the Cabinet Vision eLearning Series.

I'm not sure what's going to happen with this one. It should be interesting to watch as Cabinet Vision/Hexagon scrambles to rewrite the whole eLearning Series that will probably be HTML 5 compliant.

I'll be following this story.
