Cabinet Vision certifications

fake certificate

I can't tell you how many times either a Cabinet Vision user or a cabinet shop employer has asked me about certificates of completion for one of our Cabinet Vision training courses.  Along that same line, I've also been asked about trade certifications for Cabinet Vision.

The answer to the first question is pretty simple.  And that is that since I don't have any set curriculum for the training I do, I don't offer any certificates of completion.  The training I offer is what I would call "circumstantial" or "use case centered".  Consequently, we're more likely to address how you use Cabinet Vision in a given circumstance in your shop.

The answer to the second question is a little lot more nuanced.  And, unfortunately, the answer is the same.  No, there is no such thing as a "Certified Cabinet Vision User" for example.  And, while it would be very easy for anyone to print up a pile of official-looking certificates and distribute them, those certificates wouldn't have any real value to anyone.  So, one might ask the question then;

What is the value of getting certified in one of the trades?

Getting certified in a trade usually offers several valuable benefits such as:

  • Enhanced Credibility: Certification demonstrates your expertise and commitment to the profession, building trust with employers and clients.
  • Increased Job Opportunities: Many employers prefer or require certification, which can improve your employability and open doors to job opportunities.
  • Higher Earning Potential: Certified professionals often command higher salaries compared to their non-certified counterparts due to their specialized skills and knowledge.
  • Skill Enhancement: Certification programs typically involve training that keeps you updated on the latest techniques, tools, and standards in your trade.
  • Networking Opportunities: Being part of a certification program can connect you with other industry professionals, which may lead to new job opportunities and collaborations.
  • Career Advancement: Certification can facilitate promotions and advancements within your current job, as it shows your dedication to professional growth.
  • Access to Resources: Many certifying organizations offer additional resources, continuing education opportunities, and support to certified professionals.

Overall, obtaining a trade certification can significantly enhance your career prospects and professional development in that trade.  In the Cabinet Vision world, having such certifications would certainly bring a degree of certainty as to the expertise of the certificate holder and that certainty is then passed to your employer who is likely to trust your decisions and you would then be rewarded with a better wage or salary.  Everybody wins.

In my humble opinion, there is clearly a need for certifications for trained and qualified Cabinet Vision users.  If such real certifications were available to trained and qualified individuals, what specific certifications might be useful in our industry?   Here are 6 Cabinet Vision certifications I would like to see;

As of this writing, we don't offer any Cabinet Vision certification courses.

However, we are developing curricula for Craftsman Engineering online certificates.  The courses will be offered in a "webinar" format with a limited class size.

All of the topics you asked about will be included in the Engineer Certification course.  Since all the courses will be offered in webinar format on the web, if you have access to the internet, your country of residence is inconsequential.

Until the coursework is fully developed, we are still offering personalized, one-on-one training for Cabinet Vision users of all levels.  For more information, send an email message to me at Admin@CraftsmanEngineering.com.
